What is e-learning?

The value of traditional classrooms cannot be denied.

As time passes, things evolve. The same is true for traditional learning, which is undergoing rapid evolution, particularly in the face of the covid pandemic.

Below are the questions which will clear the concepts.

1. How would you define e-learning?

E-learning is the process of learning through electronic media. To put it simply, “learning is facilitated via the internet.

Previously, we learned through distance; now, we do so using online learning.

The distinction is that previously, study materials were prepared and sent to the learner via mail.

All of this mailing system is eliminated with e-learning, as the learning materials are made available online.

2. What are E-learning tools?

Select appropriate teaching and learning materials to design interesting and relevant content for learners. Try the following approach.

  1. Compile a summary of the tools that you can use.
  2. Conduct analysis and testing of each tool on the list.
  3. Be sure to check the cost of your product prior to finalizing the purchase.
  4. Compare their quality and price.
  5. Determine which one is most appropriate for you.

In terms of tools, you can consult the following:

  • This provides a lot of freedom and helps you to save time.
  • Saves money because there is no need to travel from one location to another.
  • It offers great opportunities for networking with peers whom you meet during your online session.
  • Everything is stored and readily accessible in Google Docs in the online learning environment. Access to this information is always available for use any time, wherever you are, or whenever you have a doubt.
  • One of the most and my favorite benefit is, If you miss anything, you can rewind the lecture as many times as you like.
  • Like dozing in class or doing any activity while attending lectures.

On the other hand, a great many students favor the face-to-to-face method. But no one solution works for everyone, and each student has a different learning style.

Thus, online education is an excellent option that will grow rapidly during and after the COVID-19.

4. Who should join the E-learning?

what is the e-learning audience
  • E-learning is ideal for people who have a lot of other responsibilities, such as working a second job but want to learn new skills.
  • People who want to change their field of interest, incorporate their existing field with a new one, or completely change their field while earning a side income.
  • It is beneficial for organizational employees’ training. They can set their own schedule. This will allow them to dedicate their time to the subject they have selected.
  • Employees are not required to travel to a training center, which could have an adverse effect on office productivity due to time lost.
  • E-learning is also beneficial for females who have a lot of responsibilities at home but wish to pursue a career as well.
  • It is for people who cannot go to big cities.
  • For special individuals who find it difficult to move around, training via e-learning is a wonderful alternative.

E-learning isn’t always a bad thing if you use it wisely.

5. What are the challenges that e-Learning faces?

what are e-learning challenges
  • Struggle with Adaptability
  • Technical Problems

  • Computer Use
  • Coping with time management issues
  • Staying Motivated and Dedication are difficult.

6. To what extent is online learning the same as on-campus learning?

what is the e-learning audience

Online education, in my opinion, will be unable to replace institutes for longer-term courses completely.

In long courses, you learn a lot from other students as well as from instructors and textbooks.

Individuals from diverse backgrounds collaborate on assignments and projects. This collaborative learning enables them to gain a great deal of knowledge. Getting into the habit of working with others will help build the soft skills that will help you in the job later.

Since I entered IT, I have learned practical work from my mentor and my peers.

Books gain theoretical information, but implementation requires the assistance of a professional.

You may be able to collaborate with your mentor online. However, you cannot deny that face-to-face guidance provides a greater level of understanding.

When you live with and study with other people 24 hours a day, you form a personal bond with them. Once you’ve finished your course, it helps you on the job too.”

engage in e-learning

One of the most important aspects is that in an on-campus class if the teacher notices that students appear to be distracted, they start asking questions that I dislike at the time

or might discuss other topics to keep students focused.

online learning

Many aspirants work hard to gain admission to prestigious colleges because they understand the importance of it. But in online courses, anyone can apply for courses and earn certificates without an assessment.

You can impress people and be inspired by others in both learning and character. In addition to being an educational source, an educational institution is a building block of character.

It expands your empathic capability. It makes it easier to connect with others.

7. Is e-learning harmful to one’s health?

Everyone, from preschoolers to young adults, teachers, and professors, is affected by online education. Recent studies have shown that virtual classes can lead to worsened mental health conditions.

overuse computer for e-learning
  • Prolonged screen time is linked to worsening eyesight problems and frequent headaches.
  • Home confinement causes anxiety and depression.
  • It creates sleep disorders.
  • It causes social isolation.

8. Is it appropriate for me to turn down on-campus learning and instead enroll in an e-learning course to prevent the hassle of having to travel to the institute?

Is it a reasonable alternative to on-campus education?

  • People believe that online education is more efficient because students can study from the comfort of their homes.
  • Much time has been saved because there is no travel time.
  • Students no longer have to worry about the costs of staying in hostels or the need to travel to school.

However, these are ideal thoughts that are not applicable in reality because colleges take online lectures and practicals only during college hours, which is 4 to 5 hours. No student can sit in front of a laptop/mobile for that long.

4 or 5 hours is not a joke.

It is also not cost-effective because colleges demand complete fees.

9. Online learning is good for everyone, or is it especially beneficial to younger people?

For adult people, it’s beneficial because they understand the consequences.

But we have to admit that our young people are unique and, to be honest, are sometimes a pain in the neck.

e-learning effect on child

Most parents believe it is not the best option. They complain that their children spend too much time on the computer. They have no idea what they are doing with their computers or smartphones. Students will now claim to be taking online courses if they are questioned.

effect of e-learning on child

Students spend their time playing video games and watching movies. This is not necessarily bad because they are recreational activities, but they are wasting so much time on them because they aren’t concerned with studying for tests or quizzes. When taking an exam, they simply search the internet, and that’s it.

eLearning disadvantage

In this pandemic, it’s a viable option. It is better to do something than nothing. It needs to be improved with on-campus learning after this covid pandemic.
